The Greene Boat & Motor Tournament Trail visited Lake Murray on Saturday, May 22.  May is usually the hot time to be at Murray. The herring spawn has peaked and is on the way out the door.  The topwater action has been hot, though it has been a little off this year.  The high water has the fish scattered.  There's just too much water on traditional herring spawning holes so the fish are widespread.  Anglers had to work harder to find prime locations.

Ronnie Wilson and Van Sexton evidently found enough schooling bass bringing in 5 bass weighing 17.95 lbs taking home 1st Place and $1,100.00.

2nd Place went to Baylen Moore with another limit at 16.94 lbs and he collected $575.00.

Stacey Richards and Brain Triplett took 3rd with 16.67 lbs and also weighed in the 1st Place BF at 5.78 lbs. All total they took home $753.00.

4th went to Ray Dowey and Joey Outlaw with 5 bass weighing 16.39 lbs. They received $225.00.

The 2nd Place BF went to Mark Swink and Gus Jones and weighed 5.64 lbs. They received $162.00.

The next Greene Boat & Motor Qualifier is June 5th at Buster Boyd Bridge Access on Lake Wylie. This  is a make-up tournament for the season-opener that was cancelled due to snow.  Sign up today!  We'll see ya there!!
