The fifth stop on the 2011 Greene Boat & Motor Trail
took us to Lake Wateree where the fishing has been excellent this spring. Even
though we were there in the latter part of spring, the fishing wasn’t bad at
all. With temperatures rising the bass are settling into their summer routines.
Several of the teams were fishing on the main lake and some nice bass over 4
pounds were brought in.
Greene Boat
& Motor pro staff member Jody Wright and his partner James Dyer rose to the
top of the leader board for the 3rd time this year and collected the
Stratos 2x money again. They brought in 5 Wateree bass with a total weight of
17.27 lbs. 1st Place was an
even $1,000.00 and add in the Stratos 2x BONUS they received a total of
$2,000.00. The win increases their point lead to 16 points and if they can stay
on top after Lake Hickory they can collect another $1,000.00 for the points
win. Sorry guys but had a camera malfunction so no pictures this time.
Clay Williams and David Redman weighed in another limit at
15.65 lbs and they received $500.00 for their 2nd Place finish.
Steve Phillips finished in 3rd with 5 bass
weighing 14.64 lbs and he also weighed in a 4.84 lbs bass to take 2nd Place Big Fish. All total Steve took home $300.00.
Ryan Hinkle
and Gary Sossoman brought in the 1st Place Big Fish and received
$280.00. Their 4th Place finish leaves them in 2nd Place
in the points. 2nd Place in the points will receive a brand new Minn
Kota trolling motor at the 2-day Championship on Lake Norman.
Next Greene Boat and Motor
Qualifier is June 4th on Lake Hickory. See you there!
