The first Greene Boat & Motor qualifier was a great event. We had 44 teams fish on Saturday, February 27 at Lake Norman.
Kevin Tolar and Rodney Lambert finished at the top with a nice five-bass Lake Norman limit of 16.72 lbs. Their limit was anchored by a huge spotted bass that came in at 5.38 lbs and was good for second place big fish. All in all, they earned $1,564 for their hard work.
Donald Hinson and Troy Armstrong took second place with 14.62 lbs. They received $865 for a job well done.
Third place went to Thomas Vickers and Brian Huskins with a total weight of 14.43 lbs and they cashed a $550 check.
In fourth place was Cliff Kirby and Alfred Keisling with another nice limit weighing 14.37 lbs and they took home $350.
Rob Digh and Marcos Muellicelli took fifth place with 13.53 lbs and received $230. Rusty White and Jeremy Cabe finished in sixth place with 13.15 lbs and earned $175. The last money place went to Don Poteat and Mike Hughes for their limit of 13.08 lbs and they received $140.
Chris Marshall and Ronnie Wilson won the big fish award with a monster 5.52 lb Lake Norman largemouth! They received $616 for this beautiful bass.
Our next qualifier will be at Lake Wylie on Saturday, March 20. We have high expectations for this event and are expecting some nice weights to be caught as forecasts are calling for some warmer weather to move into the area for next week. Many teams are already signing up, including several new teams, so get your entry fees in if you want a low blastoff number. Numbers are assigned in the order the entry fees are received.
