Press Release

We had heard all week long how guys were catching up to 50 bass a day at Lake Norman but it was hard to catch a solid limit of keepers. Well Saturday wasn’t any different as team after team weighed in small limits of mostly Spotted bass.  A few reported losing a good bass but for the most part everybody was catching 14 inchers all day long.

Tim Chapman and Mark Leech made it two in a row with a limit of largemouth bass weighing 12.10 lbs to take 1st Place and $1,350.00. Tim said they made the decision to go after largemouth the day before and it paid off pushing them to the top of the 45 team field.

Ted Geddis and Bill Warren wrapped up 2nd Place with another limit weighing 12.07 lbs and took home $875.00.

Mark Swink and Gus Jones took 3rd with 12.05 lbs and also weighed in the 2nd Place BF at 3.75 lbs. They received a total of $820.00.

Drew Montgomery and Mark Holman came in 4th with 12.04 lbs and received $375.00.

John Brown and Jerry Goble took 5th Place and $230.00 with 5 bass weighing 11.86 lbs.

Thomas Vickers and Brian Huskers weighed in a 4.24 lb bass to take 1st Place Big Fish and that bass pushed their total weight up to 11.77 oz good enough for 6th place. They collected a total of $805.00. They also moved into the point lead which will be worth $1,000.00 if they can hold on.

Shane Lehew and Matt McLeneon took home the last money spot with 5 bass weighing 11.60 lbs and received $140.00.

Next up is Lake Murray on May 22 at Billy Dreher Island State Park. We will be on the tournament ramp side which is across from the State Park store. Bring your topwater baits because it should be on!
